Academic course sections have first priority for use of General Purpose Classrooms. Non-academic (e.g., meetings) event scheduling for those rooms is deferred until after the first week of class in order to allow for final changes to the course schedule.

Fall 2016 General Purpose Classroom Availability

First week of classes—no General Purpose Classrooms available.

August 29–December 6

Booking for this time period begins on August 29.

December 6–14

Exams–no General Purpose Classrooms available.

December 15–January 16

No classes in session—may be booked at any time during the calendar year.

Spring and Summer 2017 General Purpose Classroom Availability

 January 17–23

First week of classes–no General Purpose Classrooms available.

January 24–May 3

Booking for this time period begins on January 24.

May 4–10

Exams–no General Purpose Classrooms available.

May 11–12

No classes in session—maybe booked at any time during the calendar year.

May 15–August 11

Booking for this time period begins on May 15.

August 12–21

No classes in session—may be booked at any time during the calendar year.

 Note: Weekends, Fall Break, and Spring Break maybe booked at any time during the calendar year.

Booking Process:

The University Reservations Office in the Elliott University Center will manage reservations in academic buildings for non-course sections (seminars, break-out rooms, orientations, meetings, etc.). The University Registrar’s Office will continue to manage space assignments for academic course sections with CRNs (Course Reference Number) and exams.

How to make a reservation:

    • Create an account in the VEMS system (reservations.uncg.edu).
    • Wait for an email saying your account is active.
    • Use the VEMS system to reserve your space.
      OR
    • Visit EUC 221 to complete a reservations form.

FAQs

How do student groups make a reservation?
Registered student organizations can create a VEMS Account, just like faculty and staff. They should visit reservations.uncg.edu for directions.

Who do I call about reservations related to an academic course? For course scheduling (classrooms for CRNs, Interlink courses, and Middle College courses), you will continue to work with the Registrar’s Office.
