Online GEC Petition for Transfer Credit

  • This form may be submitted by admitted undergraduate students to petition for a transfer course, originally equated as an elective, to fulfill General Education Category (GEC) requirements. After receiving your petition form, Transfer Articulation Services will review the course and notify you of our decision via e-mail within seven business days. For a quicker response, please transcribe or copy-and-paste course descriptions from the other institution's course catalog into the "Other Comments" field. Petitions submitted without course information may take longer than seven business days to evaluate.
    Important notes: Be prepared to supply additional course information (such as a copy of the course's syllabus) if requested. The online form begins the re-evaluation process, but some GEC categories can only be fairly evaluated with more course information.
    Petitions for Writing Intensive and Speaking Intensive cannot be made using this online form.
    Requests for specific course credit or requests to substitute a course in your major should be submitted to your department.
