The Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (CAA) is a statewide agreement governing the transfer of credits between N.C. community colleges and public universities in North Carolina, and has as its objective the smooth transfer of students, providing certain assurances to the transferring student by identifying community college courses that are appropriate for transfer as electives, and specifying courses that will satisfy pre-major and general education requirements.

In 2014, UNC System institutions were charged with developing, publishing, and maintaining four-year degree plans that identify community college courses that provide pathways leading to associate degree and baccalaureate degree competition. Individual plans will be developed for each student in consultation with the academic advisor. Prior credit, course availability, and student needs must be considered in developing the individual plan.

Special note: Some plans below map the completion of a bachelor’s degree, beginning with four semesters at an N.C. community college (left-hand side) and four corresponding semesters at UNC Greensboro (right-hand side). Some plans only list the recommended courses to complete an associate degree at a North Carolina community college.
