We are glad to be of service to you as you begin your academic studies at UNCG. Below are some quick answers to the questions we are most frequently asked by new students during the first weeks of classes.
Please note especially the information about the North Carolina state law concerning immunization.
Personal Identification Number (PIN)
When used with your ID number (and advising code in some instances) your PIN provides access to UNCGenie for your class schedule, degree evaluation, student information, and grades, and enables you to communicate easily with faculty and other students. It is important to protect your PIN. If you forget or disable your PINumber, visit https://getmypin.uncg.edu.
Most schedule adjustments (drop/add) can be done by you electronically via UNCGenie. Each time you adjust your schedule you should review it in UNCGenie for accuracy. You are responsible for the accuracy of your schedule and are held accountable for courses (and grades) for which you are registered. Be sure the classes you are attending are on your schedule. Visit the Drop/Add page in the Registration Guide for more information.
It is important to update your personal contact information via UNCGenie. You should always maintain a current mailing address, e-mail address, and cell phone number so that you will receive important notices from campus.
If you were allowed to register without having completed all immunization requirements, you should know that your schedule, on-campus housing, and financial aid may be in jeopardy. Contact Student Health Services at 336-334-4086 if you receive immunization information from the university or have questions. For questions associated with required health insurance, visit the Enrollment and Waiver Web site.
