Purpose: 

The purpose of this dashboard is to provide departments with the necessary data to track compliance of the new meeting pattern distribution guidelines.

 

Dashboard Location: http://reporting.uncg.edu/

  • Go to “Departmental Reporting – Enrollment Services”
  • Login to portal with username/password
  • Click “Schedule Proof” tab (at the top of the page)
  • Access “Schedule Utilization Graphs”

 

Definitions:

  • Prime time: classes that have start times of 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday
  • Non-prime time: early morning classes with a start time of earlier than 9:00 a.m. and afternoon classes with start times after 2:00 p.m.

Using the Dashboard

  • Enter Academic Period – select desired term from the pull down menu
  • Enter 3 Character Subject Code – select appropriate subject code from the pull down menu
  • Use the “click to search” button to display results for selected term/subject
  • Data is refreshed at 9:00 p.m. nightly

 

Interpreting the Data on the Dashboard

NOTE:  report parameters include undergraduate courses with a meeting pattern only

Graph 1: Course Schedule Utilization (Percentage of Prime/Non-Prime Time Usage)

  • red = % of courses that are held during prime time hours
  • blue = % of courses that are held outside of prime time hours (or non-prime time hours)– this percentage should equal 35% or higher in order to be in compliance with the meeting pattern distribution guidelines

Graph 2: Course Utilization by Day

  • shows the number of class meetings per day – this gives the department a look at where their schedule is focused per day (i.e. MWF or T/R)

Graph 3: Course Utilization Percentage by Clock Hour

  • shows the percentage of courses by hour – this gives the department a look at where their schedule is focused (morning or afternoon)
  • red indicates the percentage of courses taught within primetime
  • blue indicates the percentage outside of primetime – this percentage should equal 35% or higher in order to be in compliance with the meeting pattern distribution guidelines

Graph 4: Course Utilization by Clock Hour

  • indicates the number of course sections by hour – this gives the department a look at where there schedule is focused by clock hour
